Sony xperia tipo (and tipo dual) does not have a compass sensor or digital compass, so any compass apps will not work on tipo.
And there's no solution to this, if compass really extremely important for you, you will have to buy other phone. For me a compass is not really necessary, it's good to have but if not is okay for me.

Some people confuse because they thought they had compass when they bought xperia tipo, because people see on GSM arena (www.gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_tipo-4718.php) that xperia tipo has built-in compass sensor. The fact that not everything on GSM arena is 100% correct.
