How to play movie on Sony Xperia Tipo

So you want to play movie on your sony xperia tipo? HD movie perhaps? bad news for you, xperia tipo won't be able to play HD movie due to the poor hardware specs.

But any movie below 720p resolution are playable on xperia tipo, you just need the right apps because the stock movie player is not good enough.

I would recommend app called mx player to play movie on xperia tipo, this app is totally free to download, available on google play. Mx player support many format such as mkv, avi, mp4, etc. It's also support for external subtitle.

Using mx player actually you can playback HD movie specially 720p (software rendering), but it's not smooth, very lag. Usually the sound will come out first before the video, so it's not enjoyable playing HD movie on xperia tipo.

But any movies below 720p resolutions (below 1280 x 720 pixels) are playable on xperia tipo. As a demo, here's screenshot taken from my tipo playing movie called "flight" (2012) starring danzell washington. It's in MP4 format, resolution 720 x 304 pixels (not HD 720p).
