In this article i will show you how to wardriving using sony xperia tipo smartphone. First of all, what is wardriving?
According wikipedia, wardriving is the act of searching for Wi-Fi wireless networks by a person in a moving vehicle, using a portable computer, smartphone or personal digital assistant (PDA).
Basically wardriving is an activity where you scan your surrounding area looking for wireless network (Wi-Fi hotspot) using your mobile devices.
And we can do wardriving using our beloved android smartphone sony xperia tipo aka "tapioca". To wardriving using xperia tipo you will need app called Wigle Wifi Wardriving.
Wigle Wifi Wardriving is a free software/app you can download on google play store, it's one of the best free app on google play (in my opinion). Go ahead download Wigle Wifi Wardriving here.
To do wardriving using xperia tipo, follow these steps :
- grap your phone and turn on GPS, Wi-Fi, and data network (3G/HSDPA).
- open Wigle Wifi Wardriving app
- ride a bike, motor cycle or car
- drive around your neighborhood to scan for wifi networks
